The Melbourne Visitor Centre
The Melbourne Visitor Centre at Federation Square is a one-stop shop for all visitor information needs. Our state of the art centre offers a wide range of free brochures, maps and event guides with plenty of suggestions and friendly advice on what to see and do in Melbourne and Victoria. Within the centre, souvenirs, internet and an accommodation and tour booking service are available through the independent travel agent, Best of Victoria.
Location: Federation Square, corner Swanston and Flinders streets, Melbourne, opposite Flinders Street Station. Opening hours: Seven days, 9am to 6pm. Closed Good Friday and Christmas Day.
Melbourne Visitor Booth
The friendly volunteers at the Melbourne Visitor Booth provide maps and information on shopping, attractions and events. Location: Bourke Street Mall (between Swanston and Elizabeth streets).
Opening Hours: Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 5pm. (Closed Good Friday and Christmas Day).
City Ambassadors
For free assistance with directions, public transport enquiries, events, and general questions about Melbourne, keep an eye out for our City Ambassadors in their distinctive red uniforms.
Location: Central shopping district of the city, the area bordered by Elizabeth, Flinders, Russell and LaTrobe Streets. Hours of operation: 7 days a week, 10am to 4pm.
Melbourne City Tourist Shuttle
The Melbourne City Tourist Shuttle is a great new way to see Melbourne's attractions, and it's free! The complete trip takes approximately 50 minutes, listen to the informative on-board commentary as you travel around Melbourne.
Location: Anyone of the 15 bus stops located at key city destinations. Hours of operation: Runs daily every 15 - 20 minutes from 10am to 4pm.

Melbourne Greeter Service
The Melbourne Greeter Service is a free half day orientation of the city for visitors and tourists to Melbourne. The Service is one of the many ways the City of Melbourne welcomes people from around the world and across the nation to Australia’s most multicultural city. The services may be conducted in languages other than English, on tram or foot and with group sizes of 1 - 4 people.

Melbourne Town Hall Tours
Learn about the architectural, social and political significance of this impressive 19th century building. Experience the grandeur of the impressive wood-panelled Council Chamber, stand on the Portico where the Beatles waved and view the richly carved Melbourne Town Hall Grand Organ. With over 10,000 pipes it's one of the largest grand romantic organ in the southern hemisphere. Free tours are conducted: Monday to Friday 11am and 1pm.
